Marcus Rashford wishes to remain at Barcelona after his loan deal from Manchester United concludes in the summer.

Barcelona can choose to permanently sign the England forward for £28m, which is less than the £40m United would demand from any other club.

The 27-year-old's contract with United extends until 2028, but it seems he has no future at Old Trafford as long as Ruben Amorim is the head coach.

Rashford confirmed to ESPN that he definitely wanted to remain in Spain.

"I’m having a great time with this football club, and for anyone passionate about football, Barcelona is one of the most significant clubs in the sport's history. It’s an honor for a player."

Rashford revitalized his career during the latter half of last season at Aston Villa under the guidance of Unai Emery.

He increased his goal count to five in 12 matches for Barcelona with a brace against Olympiakos in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Rashford, preparing for his debut in El Clasico against Real Madrid this weekend, feels he is gaining advantages from a change of environment.

"People often overlook this, but I spent 23 years of my life with Manchester United. Sometimes, you simply need a change. I believe this might be true for me, and I'm enjoying everything."
