Ghanaian defender Josh Acheampong, who was born in England, netted his first senior goal as Chelsea secured a 3-0 win against the struggling Nottingham Forest in Saturday's early Premier League match at the City Ground.

The 19-year-old defender leaped the highest to nod in Chelsea's first goal in the 49th minute, creating a memorable moment in just his second league start for the team.

Reece James and Pedro Neto scored two additional goals to secure a commanding victory for the visitors, who were without manager Enzo Maresca on the sidelines due to a one-match suspension after his ejection against Liverpool.

The loss extended Nottingham Forest's winless streak across all competitions to eight games, resulting in the dismissal of manager Ange Postecoglou, just 39 days after he took over from Nuno Espirito Santo.

Acheampong’s remarkable performance and milestone goal have captured attention in Ghana, where the Football Association is considering ways to enhance its 2026 FIFA World Cup squad with players of dual nationality.

Acheampong, who was born in London to Ghanaian parents, has played for England at the Under-17 and Under-19 levels but is still eligible to change his allegiance to Ghana.
