Rafael Louzán, the president of the RFEF, has downplayed the altercation between Dani Carvajal and Lamine Yamal during El Clasico.

The Real Madrid captain confronted 18-year-old Yamal, his international teammate, at the end of the match after being provoked by some pre-match banter from the young player.

Tensions rose as players from both teams got involved in a scuffle, with Frenkie de Jong criticizing Carvajal’s behavior afterwards.

Louzan has now commented on the incident, stating he doesn’t anticipate any further repercussions.

“I’m not one for conflict, I’m a conciliatory person, and what we saw in the Clásico was just a heated moment in the game,” he told Cope.

“I believe it will end there and won’t escalate further. I haven’t discussed it with Luis de la Fuente. They are two players we greatly need and two icons of world football.”

Louzan also affirmed that relations between Spain and Barcelona remain good ahead of another international break. Despite recent tensions over the national team’s treatment of Yamal, the RFEF is not concerned.

“We are very calm because we maintain a continuous, direct relationship with the clubs. We prioritize that. We understand that the players belong to their clubs,” he added.

“We are calm; we have very important challenges ahead.”
